Homework for next time

By the start of next class, please complete your first draft of Essay 1. I'll give you feedback on this draft, so it's important that it be fully developed. That means:
  1. It should have a well crafted introduction, featuring a strong thesis.
  2. The body of your essay should be thoughtfully arranged, so that it pulls your readers toward the "climax" of your argument.
  3. That body should be comprised of nicely composed paragraphs of analysis, each of which stays focused on its main argumentative point -- as supported by your careful dissection of directly presented evidence -- and clearly advances your thesis overall.
  4. Your essay should be formatted as per instructions, using MLA-style in-text citations and including a Works Cited page.
Please remember that you don't need to create a new document. Thanks to the magic of Google Drive, you can keep working with the same document throughout the writing process.

Below is a checklist re. theses, essay arrangement, and analysis paragraphs that you may find helpful in insuring that this draft is the best it can be.
