Homework for next time
By the start of next class, please finish revising your intro (summary + thesis) for Essay 1, and then draft the body of composing as many analysis paragraphs as your thesis requires to be fully supported and developed.
Some words to the wise:
To receive full credit for this homework assignment, your writing must show that you've made a good faith effort to craft the strongest analyses that you can. That means employing the strategies of analysis that we discussed in class (a summary of which is below). It also means carefully proofreading your work to correct errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Finally, it means formatting your work per the instructions. Serious writers don't share hastily composed or sloppy drafts; they share what they're confident is their very best work, in order to receive feedback that will help them to make that work even stronger.
