By the start of next class, please (1) read Sharon Zukin's "Whose Culture? Whose City?" (I emailed it to you); (2) type up (in a Google Doc) the one- or two-paragraph passage from Zukin's text that you believe captures her most intriguing idea; and (3) write a paragraph of your own in which you explain, in your own words, the meaning of the Zukin passage and how it compares/contrasts with Mumford's ideas. And imagine that you are writing for an audience of DU students who are not in our class and haven't read any of her work or Mumford's.
